The most important thing is to stay calm. Lay the child down on a flat, safe surface, loosen their clothing, and gently turn their head to the side in case they vomit, to prevent choking. Holding the child down or putting your hands or objects in their mouth can actually make things worse.<\/p>\n

The benefits of fever reduction include: 1) alleviating discomfort and 2) preventing dehydration associated with fever. \u201cIs it okay to use fever reducers if my child is asleep but has a fever?\u201d is a common question.
